About Us
Diyang Yu
Founder & Lead Trainer
I founded PitchUp Coaching to help ambitious candidates build the practical skillset required to land offers, and succeed as analysts at top hedge funds. This mission is grounded in my own journey: first in M&A investment banking at RBC, then as a long/short equity analyst at Point72.
Working on the buyside made one thing clear: beyond technicals, what sets candidates apart is their ability to apply real analytical rigor, develop high-conviction investment theses, and communicate ideas clearly under pressure. Most finance training doesn’t teach those skills well, or at all.
PitchUp is designed to close that gap. From our targeted 1-on-1 coaching to the structured Summer Bootcamp, everything I teach is rooted in practical application. That means building a repeatable research process, modeling with intent, developing defensible ideas, and learning how to speak like someone already on the desk.
My background provides the context to teach not just what is required, but more importantly, how these skills are actually applied and evaluated on a daily basis by top-tier buyside firms. Helping clients hone this competence, and pursue opportunities at leading funds with a level of comfort and confidence, is the core mission of PitchUp.
